REFERRAL!!!!!!!!

Finally, finally, finally!! We got our referral this morning! Wow, what a day it's been! Lots of emotions, lots of thoughts all day long and still processing the magnitude of this information. We are only allowed to share a limited amount of information until it becomes official when we go through court which is still undetermined at this point.

What we can share with you is that our little guy is the cutest little baby, 2 months old and weighing a whopping 5.5 lbs.

Many of you are probably wondering what exactly the referral means and what happens from here. Receiving this referral basically means that we have been matched with this litte guy, nothing more at this point. We have received all of his basic information and will be proceeding with the adoption process. Our agency continues to gather necessary paperwork as they prepare him/us for a court date. We are guessing the court date will be early January, or late December at the very earliest (we do not travel for court date). Barring any interference or bumps in the process, we pass court and he will be officially ours in the eyes of the Ethiopian government. After court, we will receive an embassy date which is when we will be traveling to bring him home and will probably be around early February.

We are so thankful for this day, but we know our great gain is another family's great loss. We ask that you continue to pray for this family, our little one, and us as we journey this road together.
