Awaiting changes

Remember how I mentioned that there were going to be changes with the Ethiopian courts? Well, still no official word on what those changes are. Here is part of the email that we received from our case worker at CWA regarding updates for Ethiopia:

PROBABLE CHANGES IN EMBASSY APPOINTMENTS: The US Embassy in Addis has not yet announced a new time for the mandatory meeting of all adoption agencies originally scheduled to be held on February 10th. Until we are informed of the new procedures they plan to implement, we will continue to schedule embassy appointments 5 weeks after successful court hearings. They have alerted us to the fact that SCHEDULING AND APPOINTMENTS WILL CHANGE. We will let you know the details as soon as they are available to us.

COURT DATES: With so many hearings being postponed (still roughly 50%), court dates continue to be scheduled further out. New court cases this week were scheduled 10-12 weeks from the time documents were submitted.

It is a little difficult to hear these types of things. I want things to be getting more efficient and faster, rather than hearing about more possible delays! Aye, yi, yi! I'll do well to remember another quote from Nate's facebook: Patience is the companion of wisdom.

  1. Someday...you will be holding your child in your arms. At that point you will realize God's perfect timing in all things. And at that moment, all current delays and frustrations will melt away in keen awareness of God's guidance and blessing in all things of Him. Meanwhile, we pray with you for patience, for trust, for the blessing God has brought to you by impregnating you with the hope of a child that will be your. own to love and raise, and tell the story to. - Love, - Dad / Papaw Conner - Psalm 139, Proverbs 3:5-6
