Two weeks from today we will be celebrating Machiah's 1st birthday. I've kind of become lax at recording his accomplishments on here, but tonight as I watch the boys play with Nate and having so much fun, I don't want to forget tonight nor the many other memories that are so easy to forget. So, a little reflection on Machiah...
- a serious little guy who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to let you know (and can have quite the temper if he doesn't get what he wants)
- loves to explore
- loves to crawl around with something, usually a toy peg, hanging from his mouth
- if he doesn't have a toy in his mouth, it's usually at least one of his fingers
- just learned to kiss today and it is the sweetest thing
- loves to stand on the couch and cruise along the back
- tolerates some tough love from his big brother very well
- loves to cruise along with things and is crawling everywhere but hasn't quite gotten the gumption to take his first steps solo
- starting to enjoy books much more
- plays hard and sleeps harder. He sleeps more than any 11 month old I know...I almost always have to wake him up even with 1.5 hr morning nap and 3 hrs in the afternoon AND 12+ hrs at night
- when he is really tired, he lays out like Superman when you lay him down
- sleeps with his behind up in the air...and always has preferred to sleep on his stomach
- loves to feed himself and will eat most anything (especially if it's on the floor)
- loves to open and close cabinets, drawers, and doors
- his first word was "all done"...still not getting much more but he signs more and eat
- when he crawls, he crawls around like "Smigel" from Lord of the Rings...using both arms and one leg then dragging the other...love it
- loves to be chased by Dad and dive on the floor just before being "caught"
We love seeing the boys' unique personalities develop and how they interact with each other, with us and those around them. Life can be a bit crazy and rough around the edges some days, but we enjoy each phase and are thankful for the gifts we have been given.
AND he loves his Grammies! Likes to climb up my leg to be held. Luv it! Grandpa Harlow enjoys giving him bedtime bottle with a little cuddle time.
