We had a good first interview for our homestudy. We barely made it there in time...30 minutes early!! :) So we had a good time joking around in the car as we waited for a reasonable time to walk in. The interview went very smoothly and we felt very relaxed. Thanks for the prayer support! We mostly covered information regarding paperwork and then we each had the opportunity to answer general questions about ourselves and our families. I guess the real stuff will come during our three hour home study visit at our house. The case worker said that we should be prepared to answer questions about parenting and discipline, more indepth questions about our families and things like that. We are very happy with our choice in home study agencies. They provided a wealth of good information which will be interesting and helpful reading. We should be hearing from our case manager from ASC who will be making the drive up to FW to do the interview. The very cool thing that Nate was especially excited about was that the lady who will be doing our interview is none other than Mrs. Mark Herrmann, the wife of Purdue All-American quarterback from the late 70's. She must be good if she's from Purdue!
We have also scheduled our physicals, so we continue to work on the various things that are needed along the way. We will also soon begin the legal stuff which includes background checks and fingerprinting, both county and state. We've gotta make sure these "Conner people" aren't a bunch of "con-artists"...(that one's for you, Dad!) :)
Let's see this kid won't have too much Purdue paraphenelia to wear will he? GO BOILERS! This kid will for sure "Boiler Up!" Awesome day! - - Dad Conner

ReplyDeleteIt's really neat to see God's hand in all this. While I was "collecting" fabric for baby projects, the lady cutting my fabric asked me what it was for. I related our adoption story, and she asked me to keep her updated on the "journey." Then she said she would be praying for you. Another person touched. Neat, huh??
ReplyDeleteMom, Gramma.....
Baby's first sentence:
ReplyDeleteMommy, what's a boilermaker?
